[ET Net News Agency, 13 May 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$133.24
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$14.25 billion, or 10.7% of the market's
turnover. There were 673 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and MEITUAN-W (03690) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.66 billion and HK$1.04 billion, or 11.68%
and 7.31% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 25.49%
and 26.71% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY (01211) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$889.51 million and HK$715.14
million of short sales, accounting for 6.24% and 5.02% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 34.32% and 8.49% of respective stock's
turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed down HK$1.72, or 1.95%, to HK$86.28. MEITUAN-W ended down HK$5.9, or
4.08%, to HK$138.6. BYD COMPANY fell HK$13.2, or 3.18% to HK$402.4. BABA-W declined by
HK$4.8, or 3.66%, to HK$126.4.
