[ET Net News Agency, 6 March 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$216.78
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$29.26 billion, or 13.5% of the market's
turnover. There were 678 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and TENCENT (00700) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.02 billion and HK$3.02 billion, or 10.33%
and 10.31% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
29.04% and 12.21% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$2.73 billion and HK$2.31 billion of
short sales, accounting for 9.33% and 7.88% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 20.07% and 15.07% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$2.54, or 2.88%, to HK$90.82. TENCENT ended up HK$29.5, or 5.84%,
to HK$535. XIAOMI-W rose HK$0.6, or 1.11% to HK$54.8. BABA-W jumped HK$9.4, or 7.24%, to
HK$139.3.
