[ET Net News Agency, 15 May 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$200.21
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$30.18 billion, or 15.08% of the market's
turnover. There were 708 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and TENCENT (00700) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$5.4 billion and HK$2.11 billion, or 17.88%
and 7% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 47.86%
and 12.38% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY (01211) and AIA (01299) registered HK$1.41 billion and HK$1.41 billion of
short sales, accounting for 4.67% and 4.66% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 24.32% and 42.33% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed down HK$0.74, or 0.84%, to HK$87.46. TENCENT ended down HK$1, or 0.19%,
to HK$520. BYD COMPANY rose HK$5.8, or 1.4% to HK$420.4. AIA jumped HK$0.55, or 0.84%, to
HK$65.85.
